I’m Beth Mende Conny, the founder of WriteDirections.com and the author of this blog. Zip over to WriteDirections and you’ll find dozens of how-to articles, podcasts, e-pubs and meditations, as well as WriteDirections Store, which has everything writers like you need.

As you’ll learn in my bio, I’ve been writing since I first learned to form letters on a page. Since then I’ve authored/edited/ghosted more than four dozen books, written scores of newspaper articles, syndicated a column and taught writing at various colleges.

I’ve got a master’s in journalism and a Ph.D. in writer’s angst. I carry a pen and pad wherever I go. I eavesdrop on conversations to steal dialogue. I have more book ideas than can comfortably fit into my brain. I write even when I’m not writing. I drive my family crazy. I drive myself crazy too.

Still, I write. This blog is a result of that compulsion. It’s my way to share what I’ve learned and what I know to be true, and to do so frequently and personally. My hope is that you, too, will share your experiences and ideas, and have some fun in the process.
