Thursday, 4/26, 12-1, Write Directions InstituteWriting may be a solo endeavor, but we still need information from others to give our work depth and authority. We get this info through interviews, which makes interviewing one of THE most important tools of the writing trade.

You don’t need to be an experienced interviewer to be good at it. But you do need basic skills. With them, you can set your agenda, craft great questions, converse easily and become a great listener. This teleclass will make you an expert.

You will learn how to:

  • Identify the right people to interview and the right way to approach them.
  • Understand why some people don’t want to talk, and how you can change their minds.
  • Prepare mentally and physically for your interviews.
  • Ask sensitive questions with tact, grace and style.
  • Keep people and conversations on track.
  • Listen to what’s being said, spoken or not.
How does a teleclass work?
It’s easy! When you register, you’ll be given a phone number and an access code. Simply dial in a minute or two before the class starts and enter the access code when prompted. We’ll be there to greet you. There will be a mix of teaching and conversation.
